Independent MP Zoe Daniel says it’s time for the government to take “serious action” and impose sanctions on Myanmar.
Ms Daniels said she wants to see three things delivered by the Australia government: targeted sanctions on military-owned companies, potentially recognise the National Unity Government in Myanmar, and deliver humanitarian aid.
“There are 1.2 million displaced people in Myanmar, there are civilians being murdered by the government, there are people fleeing to neighbouring countries and the circumstances are desperate,” she told Sky News Australia.
