PWC Integrity Review

I am deeply concerned by the government’s engagement with PwC amid serious scandal allegations. It’s alarming that PwC has secured contracts worth over half a billion dollars in the past two years, despite these concerns. Our growing reliance on private consulting firms is concerning, especially as it’s creating a costly ‘shadow workforce’.

I believe our role in public service is to provide frank and fearless advice, not just to enable government policy. I’ve asked the Prime Minister to suspend current contracts with PwC and review Commonwealth relationships with all large private consultancy firms to restore public trust. If not, the soon-to-be-established National Anticorruption Commission should step in. Our actions must match our pledges to truth, integrity, and accountability
